What business problem did Veriff solve for OnilX?

As a digital financial institution with a global reach, OnilX needed a customer verification system that could satisfy compliance requirements in the various jurisdictions it operates and is able to verify customers no matter where in the world they are based.

Álvaro Rocha, OnilX’s Chief Compliance Officer, explained: “The main challenge we had at the time was to find a platform that would allow us to onboard customers from the United States.

We are a virtual asset business and that means we operate around the clock, so sometimes we need support at 8pm. Veriff has given that support to us and they are a genuine partner for our business.”

What was the impact of implementing Veriff?

In digital asset management, where transactions are conducted in real time, speed is critical. And that applies to the customer onboarding process too.

“For us, the impact of using Veriff’s solution is the effectiveness in reading data and the speed of verification,”Rocha said.

“The new customer onboarding process is now pretty seamless, but it is the re-authentication of returning customers that is where we have seen the most impact. Using Veriff’s biometric FaceMatch technology allows our users to sign into their account in less than a second and that is a massive improvement for us.

“We also work closely with them on new feature development and it is a true partnership in that they listen to our problems and work with us to create new solutions.”
