We sat down with Meg Sulpher, Vice President, Learning and Workforce Development Solutions, to talk about our work together. 

How did you first hear about Veriff? 

We first discovered Veriff when our client needed a visual authentication process for a regulatory training course. It was a unique requirement, specific to them. Realizing it wasn’t our area of expertise, we sought out alternatives. Our Senior Technical Architect recommended Veriff as a leading solution for integration capabilities. 

What made the difference to Bluedrop ISM when choosing Veriff?

We considered a few vendors, but Veriff stood out for several reasons. Firstly, the detailed technical documentation provided clarity on integration, unlike competitors with vague information. Secondly, Veriff’s SOC 2 certification and GDPR compliance aligned with our own standards - this was crucial to avoid violating our own certification requirements. .  The fact that Veriff offered data hosting options in different jurisdictions was also important as often our customers will have restrictions as to where their data can be hosted.

How was your experience with Veriff during the integration process and when you first started using our services?

Starting even before the integration phase, navigating the contracting process with you was crucial. Despite uncertainties, you helped us access the test environment beforehand, allowing us to plan integration efficiently. Once we were able to get into the actual integration work, the clear documentation and your availability for questions made the integration process seamless, despite time pressures. 

How has our product and service offering supported your operations and the launch of this new initiative? 

Ultimately, Veriff enabled us to meet a very specific requirement for an individual client that we probably wouldn't have been able to meet otherwise. This tailored solution has met their expectations seamlessly, benefiting over 40,000 people in the registration process. Perhaps surprisingly, the integration hasn’t disrupted our core operations significantly; it has, in fact, allowed our teams to focus on strategic priorities without a constant need for attention or being a drain on our resources. 

Have you encountered any challenges or obstacles along the way? And how does Veriff address said challenges? 

Early on, we faced a challenge, unrelated to Veriff’s functionality: a discrepancy between ID expiration and provincial regulations allowing renewals within three years. This led to many requests getting stuck in resubmission status. Veriff suggested a solution: accepting the expired IDs and then enforcing the three year timeframe. This simple adjustment drastically reduced the number of help desk tickets and aligned our process with regulations. Overall, it was the only notable issue we encountered and it was more of a calibration than a hiccup. 

In what ways do you see this partnership evolving in the future? 

Veriff’s authentication process has become integral to this project, helping our client address initial skepticism about replacing in-person tests. It’s likely to remain a requirement for them. While we’ve loosely discussed integrating it with proctoring solutions, we lack a definitive client request or clear vision for implementation. However, given how often we get inquiries about it, exploring the potential for further integration might offer valuable insights as we continue to engage with customers and understand their needs. 

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experience as our customer to this date?

I just want to reiterate how great it's been to work with you. Your responsiveness has been key, especially given our tight integration timeline. Your approachability and transparency stand out - finding documentation on your website is straightforward, and when unsure, you quickly direct us to the right resources. This has been particularly beneficial when working with clients where timely access to documentation is crucial, especially when requirements come up after the fact.
