Apple are Making Updates & So Are We!

Apple's update to their app privacy practices means updates need to be made if you're using Veriff's SDK. Make sure you get it done before December 8th!

You might already know that Apple is changing their app’s privacy practices as of Tuesday December 8th 2020.

This is Veriff’s reminder that if you’re using Veriff’s SDK, along with Apple’s app in your product, you need to provide information about your app’s privacy practices, including the practices of third-party partners whose code you integrate into your app, in App Store Connect.

And if Veriff is one of your third-party partners, it means you’ll need to update the personal data types and their use in the app. Here’s an overview of what information you need to update regarding Veriff.

Data Collection

In this section, please tick the following boxes:

  • Coarse Location - This data is collected for analytics, product personalization and App functionality purposes.
  • Sensitive Info - This data is collected for analytics, product personalization and App functionality purposes.

Data Types

Veriff’s SDK makes use of the following data types listed below. We’ve also briefly explained how we use this data. Please tick the following boxes throughout the forms.

  • Photos or Videos - Photos or Videos are used solely for App’s functionality purposes and they are linked to the user’s identity. They are not used for tracking purposes.
  • Audio Data - Audio data is used solely for App’s functionality purposes and they are linked to the user’s identity. This is not used for tracking purposes.
  • User ID - User ID data is used solely for App’s functionality purposes and they are linked to the user’s identity.
  • Device ID - Device ID data is used solely for App’s functionality purposes and is linked to the user’s identity.
  • Product Interaction - This data is collected for analytics, product personalization and App’s functionality purposes.
  • Crash Data - This data is collected for analytics and App’s functionality purposes. Users’ crash data is not used for tracking purposes.
  • Other Diagnostic Data - This data is collected for analytics, product personalization and App’s functionality purposes. Users’ other diagnostics data is not used for tracking purposes.

Please update the information as soon as possible and let us know when you’ve completed the update regarding Veriff. Apple has publicly set a deadline for updates on December 8th, 2020.
