Verifying the applicant’s identity

Veriff’s certified identity verification solution guides the applicant to verify their identity easily and quickly

• Capturing the document and selfie
  

  The applicant is asked to take a photo of their government-issued identity document and a selfie image.

• Verifying the applicant
  

  Our solution checks the document’s authenticity and validity, while checking the person’s realness and similarity to the photo on the verified document.

Additional required checks

At the same time and as part of the required checks, the applicant is checked against the following:

• Cifas fraud risk database checks
  

  The applicant’s data is checked against the Cifas fraud risk database to protect against known fraudsters.

• Credit history and electoral roll checks
  

  Our solution automatically validates the presence of an applicant's credit history or their existence on the electoral roll database. These required checks provide a higher level of confidence in the authenticity of the user’s asserted identity.

• PEP registry checks
  

  Veriff checks that the applicant is not on a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) list.
