Identity verification service to meet the KYC requirements is a crucial component to ensure that Pocosys, a banking-as-a-service solution owned by Opera can operate in the financial services industry, enter new European markets and succeed with its global growth ambitions.
Kaarel Kotkas, the founder and CEO of Veriff, is really excited about the partnership with such a global company. “It’s a great opportunity for us to grow together and complement each other. Together we are making digital financial services accessible for more people and provide them with a great user experience with the least friction,” Kotkas said.
“We're always on a hunt on new talents, and we're happy to partner up with Estonian startups. Together with Veriff and its flexible product, we contribute to building the future of the European fintech scene,” Oksana Tolmatshova, the CEO of Pocosys, commented.
In January, a leading global internet brand Opera Limited acquired a banking-as-a-service company Pocosys, to add auxiliary capabilities and skill sets to allow for future synergies between its browser and fintech businesses. Their modern banking technology enables Opera to work on new financial services that utilize Veriff’s digital identity verification capability.
Founded in 2015, Pocosys was named among the Top 3 IT software companies in Estonia by the leading Estonian business newspaper Äripäev. In 2020, it was acquired by Opera to boost the company’s presence in the European fintech space.
Opera is a leading global internet brand with an engaged and growing base of over 380 million average monthly active users.
